Congratulations to the Girls U16 Basketball team who won the tournament today in Kildysart. They defeated St John Bosco (30-14) and St Joseph’s Spanish Point (24-21). Síofra Ní Chonaill was named ‘Player of the Match’. Special thanks to their trainer, Ms McElligot.

Last year a group of Transition Years from Gaelcholáiste an Chláir reached the national final of the Student Enterprise Awards.

So this year they returned to the Clare Student Enterprise Awards to share the secrets of their success with this year’s hopefuls!

Their company, ‘Arcs for Success’, won first place in the Senior Category at the Clare Student Enterprise Awards run by  Clare Local Enterprise Office.

 

Best wishes to our past-pupil Gráinne Ní Nualláin and the Clare Ladies Gaelic Football team in the All-Ireland Intermediate final in Croke Park this weekend! Go n-éirí libh!

Gaelcholáiste an Chláir will reopen next week for another year of immersive education in County Clare’s only Irish-medium secondary school.

Osclóidh an Gaelcholáiste do lucht na Chéad Bliana amháin, Dé hAoine 26 Lúnasa. Fillfidh an 3ú agus an 6ú Bhliain Dé Luain 29 Lúnasa. Beidh an 2ú agus an 5ú Bhliain ar ais Dé Máirt 30 Lúnasa agus an Idirbhliain Dé Céadaoin 31 Lúnasa.

Fuair Naomi O’Shaughnessy an gradam don imreoir ab fhearr, agus bronnadh an sciath ar an gcaptaein, Síofra Ní Dhálaigh Ní Chonaill. Is iad Iníon Ní Lochlainn  agus Iníon Ní Riain na múinteoirí atá i bhfeidhil na fóirne.

The joint Gaelcholáiste an Chláir / Ennis Community College Under-16 girls gaelic football team won the Munster Division E Post-Primary Shield, with a comprehensive win over St Colman’s of Middleton in the Munster Final played at Staker Wallace Park in Kilmallock on Tuesday 26th of April. Left half back Naomi O’Shaughnessy from first-year was named ‘Player of the Game’. Munster ladies football post-primary council member Ed Burke presented the award, and presented the shield to team captain Síofra Ní Dhálaigh Ní Chonaill. The team is managed by teachers Iníon Ní Lochlainn and Miss Ryan.

Well done to the First and Second Year Girls Basketball team who reached the county league final after defeating Kilrush in the semi-final. Although they lost out by four baskets in the final, they go on to the quarter-finals of the Munster competition which will be held in Castleisland.

Sa phictiúr tá Siún Ní Thuathail, Rachel Nic Mhathúna, agus Ciarán Ó Tuathail, in éineacht lena múinteoir Iníon Ní Ghríofa. Tá Annora Ní Cheallacháin as lathair ach bhí sí páirteach sa tionscnamh seo freisin.

There were 103 stands in total and over 395 students participating from schools all over the county. Well done to everyone who took part – we had four teams in total. See more photos below.

Local Enterprise Awards 2016

guidancecrop1Tá tús á chur an tseachtain seo leis an bpróiséas chun na h-ábhair Árdteiste a roghnú dóibh siúd a bheidh ag dul isteach sa chúigiú bliain mí Mheán Fhómhair seo chugainn. Labhróidh Ms Christie, an Treoirchomhairleoir, le lucht na hIdirbhliana inniu, agus le lucht na triú bliana amárach.

Ms Christie will be available to meet/chat with parents/guardians to discuss any issues on Wednesday March 2nd from 9am-4pm. Parents/guardians are advised to make an appointment in advance if they wish to meet with the Guidance Counsellor.  Alternatively, you can email fiona.christie@enniscc.ie.
