Fiche Bliain ag Fás

Tá Gaelcholáiste an Chláir ag ceiliúradh 20 bliain ag cur oideachas trí Ghaeilge ar fáil do mhuintir an Chláir!

Ag tús na nóchadaí, ba léir go raibh éileamh ann do mheánscoil lán-ghaelach, agus bunáiodh an Gaelcholáiste faoi choimirce Choiste Ghairmoideachais an Chláir.  Cláraíodh an chéad bhuíon scoláirí i mí Mheán Fómhair 1993. tá fás agus forbairt ar an nGaelcholáiste ó shin i leith, agus faoi láthair tá nach mór 150 dalta cláraithe.

Tá Oíche Cheiliúrtha beartaithe don Aoine, 3ú Bealtaine, ag 8 a chlog  in Óstán an Temple Gate.

Cuirfear taispeántas ar fáil de ghrianghrafanna agus ábhair eile ó stair an Choláiste agus cuirfear fáilte roimh aon ábhair den tsaghas sin a mbeadh daoine sásta a thabhairt ar iasacht don taispeántas.

Gaelcholáiste Celebrates ‘20 Years a Growing’

Gaelcholáiste an Chláir is this year celebrating its 20th anniversary providing quality education through the medium of Irish to students in Co Clare.  The Gaelcholáiste is an Aonad of Ennis Community College.

In the late Eighties and early Nineties it became clear that there was a demand for education ‘trí Ghaeilge’ in the county and Gaelcholáiste an Chláir opened its doors to students in September 1993.  The Gaelcholáiste has gone from strength to strength in the 20 years following and at present has an enrolment of almost 150 students coming from all corners of the county.

To mark this milestone, the Gaelcholáiste is planning a Celebration Evening in the Temple Gate Hotel in Ennis on Friday 3rd May at 8pm.   There will be a meal followed by some entertainment, spot prizes, maybe a “Siege of Ennis” or two and a chance for past and present students, teachers and parents to have a chat, catch up and reminisce on days past.

To aid with the ‘cuimhní cinn’, the College plans a display of photographs and memorabilia from the past 20 years.  Past pupils, teachers and family members are invited to lend pictures and items of interest to this display, which will be returned afterwards.
